Our Solution

Whether you are facing a medical emergency, attempting to avoid Probate, or wisely planning for the future.  We provide customized solutions to preserve and protect your hard-earned Assets.  You do not need to spend down your Assets to be eligible for Long-Term Nursing Home Care Benefits paid by Medi-Cal.  Even if you have a loved one in a Nursing Home and are privately paying for care, we can help you.

Our Professionals evaluate which options are right for you, implement the necessary steps to preserve and protect your Home and hard earned Assets while freeing up your time to take care of the one you love.

Step 1 - Your First Contact with our Office is a Free Assessment:

We conduct an in-depth, free telephone assessment to determine if your family will benefit from our services.  If we determine that we can help you, we then proceed to step #2 and arrange for a Consultation with our attorney.

Step 2 - Consultation with  Attorney:

During your Consultation, we review your Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney and other related Legal Documents.  We consider the type of illness (i.e.,  Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Dementia, Stroke, etc.) to ascertain what steps will need to be taken in order to obtain appropriate Long-Term Nursing Home Care.

At the conclusion of our Consultation, after we have had the opportunity to review the facts and circumstances regarding your situation, your options and choices will be set out and the fees associated with that work will be provided.

Step 3 - Implementation of Services

We formulate a customized plan that encompasses Medi-Cal Planning, Estate Planning, Asset Tansfers, and in many cases Income Protection to preserve and protect the Family's Assets while at the same time qualifying your loved one for Long-Term Nursing Home Care.
Our fee’s are flat and cover Estate Planning, Medi-Cal Planning, Asset Protection, Asset Transfers, Income Protection, Medi-Cal Application and Government Agency interaction.

The NHS Team handles all aspects of  the Medi-Cal Application, functions as an intermediary and assists with all Government Agencies, handle all Court Proceedings and stand by the family throughout the entire application process.

Our Services Include

Case Manager Counseling
Our case managers are experienced Registered Nurses (R.N.'s) and Social Workers that can assist with your placement needs – from recommending Nursing Home Facilities to assisting the family with proper placement for their loved one. Upon request, our case managers can intervene with insurance companies to maximize the benefits and get authorization for the most appropriate level of care.

Traditional Estate and Financial Planning
Along with a plan for Long-Term Nursing Home Care, traditional Estate Planning needs such as Probate avoidance, minimizing tax consequences and maximizing financial stability of the family are also considered. Our solution  ensures that the needs of both Long-Term Care and traditional Estate Planning are considered.

Essential Tools
Regardless of good health, every person should have vital tools in place so that someone can make financial and healthcare decisions if a person is unable to do so. Advanced Healthcare Directives and a Durable Financial Power of Attorney are minimally necessary. Also, a Will or Trust  should be in place to provide for the orderly distribution of your Assets. These essential tools will enable you to act when the time comes.

Review of Living Trusts
Are you aware that the majority of Living Trusts do not protect Assets from Creditors?  In fact, Living Trusts have an affirmative obligation to pay all bills and debts of the Estate thereby causing  you to potentially lose everything you own when faced with the high costs  of a Long-Term Illness. NHS will review and recommend steps to resolve these Trust dilemma's.

Insurance Concerns
While NHS does not sell insurance, many families who contact us have questions regarding their current insurance coverage and possible future needs. We will discuss and  recommend the types of insurance you might require.
